yeah, I think they match the COPR expiry with the medical expiry date. Seeing COPR info does not mean that they issued eCOPR though. I can see that number for a month, but no eCOPR has been issued yet.
Hey guys - just got the AOR recently and I was planning to apply for an Open Work permit for my spouse. However, she is on a study permit and currently studying in Canada. I am on PR though and tried to apply through her IRCC account but it doesn't let me apply an open work permit for a study permit holder and only lets me apply if the person is on a visitor visa or work permit. Is there anyone who can help in the process if you were in a similar situation and applied for a work permit for your spouse when they were on a study permit? Thanks in advance.
Do you want to work off campus (up to 20 hours)?
You say yes to this, and then it asks whether you are approved in principle for PR. If you say yes, then it shows an option to apply for an open work permit
'Approved in principle' technically means that you passed your eligibility, but this normally happens later in the process (They will send you a document). I was told that AOR can be enough for this process. Once you get your AOR, you can include it as one of the attachments in your application for open work permit. I was suggested to do this early and I got my open work permit within a month or so. I needed it because my status will expire soon due to graduation and I will work. However, this was the case months ago so I don't know whether they made any changes.
Make sure to follow these instructions carefully (below). They are pretty informative. You need to include a specific code that is only for inland spousal PR applicants.
