Another quick question, I have read here in other topics that for inland you do not have to provide an RCMP check unless requested. Can someone verify this?
At the time of the application, I had not been in Canada for more than 6 months, but at the time of police check request (about a month later) I had. The police certificate I provided was only for the origin country, assuming CIC will do their own on the Canadian side.

I live in Quebec city and I'm not sure if they work fast or not. My Ecas status is still: In process for Sponsor; and Application received for Sponsored. But I'm thinking in a positive way like I commented somewhere previously that I hope it works like my Work permit. People here were talking a lot about their status changing on MyCIC from In process to Start reviewing... But mine? Nothing until I got a message to inform that I got a work permit (before 4 months since I applied). So I truly hope that everything will be alright although my status hasn't changed for further updates; and that we all will receive PR card in the next few months he he

I applied in Jan 2017 (inland). According to the status, the processing started in Dec 2017 (for the applicant).
The application status changed to 'We need additional documents to process your application. We will send an e-mail or letter,' sometime in Dec 2017. We received no email or letter. They requested additional documents for the sponsor in Feb 2018 through a phone call. The person who called claimed to have sent an e-mail/letter which we never received. We finally sent the additional documents requested (mainly salary slips for the three preceeding months and proof that the Sponsor (PR not a citizen) had definitively returned to Canada because he had previously resided and worked in the US). After a while, the status changed again to 'Additional documents required'. We received no communication from them. We made online enquiry because it is impossible to reach an agent and we were told that everything is in order. But, there doesn't seem to be any progress.
It is indeed frustrating. I have been holding off a visit to home country expecting that I might hear from them anytime soon.
When I read in another thread that they processed 333,000 PR applications in 2017, really shows the mammoth task they have, let alone all the other types of applications. We just all cross our fingers that ours is processed in 12 months (or less)!
