Hi there, see my timeline below if it helps. And yes, I was able to link my OWP after a week of receiving AOR.

Application package received Dec 5th 2017 here. No AOR yet.

It takes about 8 weeks to get AOR.

I sent in my application for extension of OWP. My work place is asking for AOR for this. Does anyone know if CIC will email us when they start working on the OWP, or if I have to check online through mycic account?

Check online (my CIC account if you applied online) for a letter acknowledging receipt.

I've been trying to link my application for months, but I managed to link my OWP today.

Application sent on Aug 28
Application Received on Aug 30
AOR??
OWP returned due to missing 155$ on Sept
Sent OWP on Sept 29
Schedule A/PCC requested on Nov 11
Submitted Schedule A/PCC on Nov 29

Our timelines are almost similar.
My husband has sponsored me as he already has PR
Application Received by CIC on Sep 01 2017
OWP Returned for same reason (missing $155) and resubmitted around mid November 2017
PCC and SheduleA submitted in Dec. 03, 2017
After this, there is no communication for either PR or OWP application. Do you have any update on yours? Also, CIC haven't asked for my medical exams. What about you?

I think u can prove to them ur AOR u received around March and If necessarily give ur Med pass confirmation to your work place too

You should give your employer a copy of the work permit application you sent and a post office receipt showing you sent it or any evidence to show you submitted your application for an extension.

Yes, that email was the AOR. However, applying for PR does not give you implied status. You have to maintain a valid status while you wait for the PR. If you have applied for an Open Work Permit at the same time (OWP) you will have an implied status. If not, you better request and extensions of your visitor status.

there is people from October 3rd that already got theirs. Im October 5th and on implied status as well. havent heard anything yet
