Oh, this is because I was already in Canada on a valid study permit and was still studying when I got married. I'm not too sure how you can study or get a study permit while your sponsorship is in progress and you're already in Canada.
We applied for inland spousal sponsorship (UK to canada both brits, I am a PR husband is on work permit from UK also), CIC received our application on May 17th 2017, received the next stage June 13th Now just playing the waiting game., If anyone is further along in the process, around what month did you receive your next step? If it truly is going to take 12 months then I would think we would hopefully hear something around month 9? any help is greatly appreciated!
Can I link Extend visitor visa application to MyCIC. (I actually tried to link but I could not). I haven't heard any news about it for almost 4 months.

After you explained, I think yes, it might be case by case. Sorry but what is SA? I'm really sorry but I feel like a headache is coming to me soon! Lots of works for papers
If you were out of status, you will not qualify for OWP. They will have to wait for your AIP before issuing your work permit. That’s the only reason most time, why OWP take longer than 4 months.

CIC received my application on August 17th, it was submitted on October 6th (after I linked it to MyCIC, I linked it too late - it was my mistake): - Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
- Review of eligibility: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility.
Can you please explain more what does it mean of "If you were out of status, you will not qualify for OWP"?
