Also a July applicant. No word yet from my end as well.. Still waiting and making sure we are in top health condition.

Med requests are on hold right now for some reason as IRCC tries to clear backlog for 2016 apps.
Normally you should get a med request ~120-140 days from the day your app was received, but right now even End April applicants are wait for medical request, as are May and June applicants.

I have applied for Spousal Sponsorship outside Canada in Sept2017 and awaiting for AOR. I was wondering if I can apply for OWP. I have gone through lot of documents on CIC website but not clear if I am eligible to apply as I currently live in UK. I will be visiting Mississauga at the end of the month and was wondering if I can apply while I am there if I am eligible.
Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks

No you can not. Open work permits are for inland applications only.

Hi, I made the same mistake with OWP. I have not received AOR yet, do you know what I should do?

I am not sure! It could depend on how long ago you sent the app. I would call and send an inquiry to ask if they would still accept your payment now. If they have not opened the application, they may, but this is just a guess.

Thanks you very much for your support. I got the letter that thay want interview in November 10 . They ask me to bring my wife and all of my documents like
passport.
T4
Workparmit
Pictures with my wife
24 month bank statement
Birth certificate
Joint account documents
Rental agreement

They written in the letter that the interview will be up to 4 hours..
Please advice me

My friend went through an interview. They are going to question your relationship and how well you know eachother. They might ask you very personal questions like:
Where does your husband/wife keep their socks/bras/underwear/shirt? What is their favorite food? Where did you meet? etc. I would recommend preparing some answers to those kind of questions because it's important that both of you answer them in the same way. Good luck

What you're talking about is ecas, since online account (GCKey or MyCIC) is only for principal applicant and not for sponsor. You can't login on GCKey for the sponsor for the same application.

So, the status of the Sponsor and Principal Applicant should be different and is normal?

Hi everyone to link your account follow follow these instructions.

Category: Permanent Residence
Sub Category: Family class (Spouse) or common law
Use Application Number and Unique Client Identifier - No spaces between number

City/Town - Input exactly what is written on your passport (USE ALL CAPS!)
Input country
Add all Passport details and Input all other details necessary.
For number of Family members, put 2 if you are just one applying for PR.

Then, link your OWP using UCI and Last name
Pick temporary residence
Work permit extension
pick applied permanent residence through spouse sponsorship
enter all other details

AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt ) is the email with your UCI and Application number and it asks you to link your account. For submission of Schedule A , if submitting online it clearly states do not print it and upload. You just need to fill everything electronically and add your name and date and you will sign it once you uploaded it. To upload it go to mycic, go to your application, go to submitted documents/ application, see if there is a request for replacement of SCHEDULE A. Then upload your VALIDATED and electronically signed schedule A.

I have a question for Experts/Senior members if who have an idea for my query . My Spouse has US Green card and he is living in canada with me as a Visitor . He applied for spousal immigration with OWP recently . My Question is that if he leaves canada how long could he stay abroad? I know this will be a decission of Immigration officer to allow him again in Canada but is there any time line that he has to return back as his OWP and PR are being processed ? and can he stay in abroad to 1 month or more ? any idea about that just wanted to confirm is there any timeline to return back to canada? from abroad my another question is that during OWP is being processed can he go abroad and return back as well or he has to stay in Canada until he gets OWP?

were you able to link your OWP online? I received AOR on Oct 1 so a bit before you but haven't been able to link and have not received any info on OWP. My wife's on implied status now with no OHIP so hopefully this arrives soon.

Yes I was able to link OWP online, I used UCI number along with passport number. Hopefully this helps.

So I just linked my application to my account online. CIC requested SA and police check from me.
I have 2 questions about the police check:

1) I have been in Canada for 10 years - so technically I need a Canadian police check but someone posted earlier that we don't need to submit one from Canada. Can someone please confirm this?

2) I go back to my home country every year for the past 10 years. Each time, I stay for 3 weeks. So do I need a police check from my home country? Because I found this statement on CIC:
"You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18. For example: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate."

thanks for this. my application was just received last october 31 but i am saving this now.
just a question. when you receive the AOR is it both for the PR and OWP? because my wife’s work permit will expire february 4,2018 and based on the timelines here we expect to receive our AOR end of december or early january. our only hope for her to be on implied status is if indeed the AOR includes linking the OWP application.
