Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I am a little confused as what to put down on the form when it asks " Family, Economic, Refugee, or Other" We are applying under "Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada" class. This is not family class right? But in "Other" there is no option of Spouse or common law in Canada. What did you all put down?

I think it was the family sponsorship if you are sponsoring your spouse. It would have been easier if you provided the form number.

As far as I know, you can use channelers if you are a Canadian or US citizen.

Thank you for this information, we actually decided to cross the border into Washington and having the fingerprints done at the local police station and mailing them to a channeler who will have the results within 7 days. Total process ended up costing less than 100 US. Definitely worth it compared to mailing it to FBI. Appreciate your help though and will contact you if I have further questions.

It was the " Generic Application Form for Canada ( IMM 0008 ) Question one and two.

Yes. Your sponsor can't be your dependant. Dependant would be anyone else who might need to immigrate with you

Anyone received OWP lately? My OWP app received on the 7th of June, 2017. And have not heard anything about it, or received it in my mail.

I have a different kind of a question. I'm not really sure if it belongs in this thread. Have any of you guys submitted an open work permit application together with your spousal sponsorship application? I have and unfortunately I get no updates about my open work permit in my profile. When I linked my application it only shows my permanent application process but nothing about the open work permit. Has anyone experienced anything like that ?

Hi all, UK Citizen applying for PR (spousal sponsorship) and OWP Inland via Mississauga.

Canada Post tracking shows application was signed for on 17th August.

Still waiting for AOR, which based on timelines of others calling CIC could be another 2-3 weeks before we hear anything.

Tracking the forum for people contacting CIC and getting updates on dates of which applications they have started working on, would appreciate if people who have contacted them continue to post that information.

Will also add this info to spreadsheet shortly.

it seems as though there have been a few as of today looks like they have started on the July 25th applications might be worth calling and checking with CIC to see if there any issues with application. Im tracking my application timeline based on that information as i submitted on August 17th i expect my AOR around 4th October.
