The answering machine is saying they are working on applications received before dec 7th 2016

pretty sure this is an error and they mean 2015. They've messed up the year before.

What do you mean? Do the online application before the marriage is registered?

No, the day after the wedding, go online and submit the request for a Marriage Certificate. Mine took 5 weeks.

The officiant told us to wait for 8 weeks and then send it out. But i read on here that you could send it in the next day after the wedding and it would come faster.

Thanks! We applied inland with OWP. Spouse is a Brazilian citizen so I guess São Paulo visa office? We sent the application to Mississauga. I'm not sure how that works to be honest hah

that is their intent, however they are currently backlogged with inland applications and are currently processing Dec 2015 applications. It is common to wait 2+ years for inland approval. only time will tell if IRCC can uphold the "Within 12 month" guideline for the new 2017 application package.

If i m not mistaken the owp is valid for 2 years or until they process your pr application.

OWPs are valid for 2 years or earlier if your passport is not valid that long. If the owp is still valid when you land....it becomes void since you no longer need it. When you land you are supposed to bring any expired and current visas and OWPs

We really dont know how quick they'll process the apps since the 12 month plan is new....and no one knows if they'll fall into the 80% they plan to process within that timeline.

-Started processing Oct 31,2016
- Received acknowledging Receipt Nov 1,2016

It's been 4+ months that CIC received the app. Haven't recieved any update on OWP. I was told that usually OWP comes around in 3-4 months.

I am anxious and eagerly waiting. Can anyone tell me what's the ideal timeline for recieved OWP for inland applications.

Since you are passed the four months for processing of OWP you should contact IRCC 1 888 242 2100 to inquire about why it is taking so long. Did you pay the OWP fee of CAD$255.00?
