Hello Experts,

I am currently on PR for 2 years. I am getting married this march 30th. My wife already has a visitor visa approved.

We will be traveling together (may cross immigration separately - not yet decided) in April.

She has work experience in india and wanted to work in Canada.

Can you please let me know if i can apply for her work permit along with spousal application?

The website says to submit spousal, permanent resident and work permit together. I know spousal and work permit applications... what about Permanent Resident application?

Please help me with the step by step process and what all docs i need to gather to apply. How long does it take to get work permit approved?

You can find all the information about the Spousal Sponsorship and Work Permit on the CIC website. They have a guide you can read through now and once you are ready to complete your application, read it again. If you encounter any problems or questions, ask here. I got interview date first and next week Etobicoke email, so i m lucky, no need to wait. otherwise you have to wait 7-10 working days

I just checked my app status online it says DM on both sides my husband called cic and they said etobicoke office will contact us do u have any idea how long it will take as we did not receive any email from cic

That's good though, maybe the next update will be a landing interview appointment. I want to hear something so bad. Its been 7 years since I last saw my parents and I wanna go back home so bad, but I can't even start to prepare because I don't know when I get the landing interview. I am fine with waiting for the PR card but its this appointment that bumming me out.

Awwwe thanks. Its bad I know but realistically, its almost over.

I did applied for the work permit but because I was out of status it was only approved when I was eligible to apply as permanent residence. I got the OWP 3rd week in February and AIP a week later and DM one week after. So not I might as well wait it out because they can schedule a interview at anytime.
