So far, we only have her updated OHIP card, and her new SIN (they had some weirdo issue that required a mailed-in request for a new SIN -- I bet it's because we had a COPR and CIC-Kitch hadn't updated it as accepted yet). She is patiently waiting for the PR Card so she can plan her flight to Moscow...
Our honeymoon was a cottage trip to a rented private island in the middle of NOWHERE near Magnetawan, ON. So remote that to call for help, you have to give GPS co-ordinates!

I mean, it's no Caribbean, but yeah it was pretty good. A whole week out there with just ourselves, and our bigger dog. 10 minute boat ride to get from the dock to isolation. But I protested because she used (and lost) the good fishing lures, after she caught the only fish

I want to go so many places in Canada, especially Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Bay of Fundy (New Brunswick), Newfoundland and Labrador and of course BC.

My mom was born in NB. We have made many trips out that way. But we get to stay with family . Fundy was neat. Walking the ocean floor at low tide is interesting. You have to listen for the sirens.
NS was cool too. Try to drive to Cape Breton. The imagery is stunning.I didn't do their PEI trip, so I cannot comment -- though when they went (my other family members, that is) they enjoyed themselves greatly. NFLD is somewhere I haven't been to yet -- same with BC. Just, boring Ontario.
Called CIC and went through the citizenship prompts. Was told there was a 25 minute wait in queue. 32 minutes later I get a representative that states he cannot help me, I have entered the wrong department and need to be transferred. Back on hold again, 12 minutes later I get a representative in the immigration department on the phone. She verifies all my information and places me back on hold to check my case. Then she comes back with the saddest news ever....Eligibility is still processing (this has been processing since July 25, 2016) and tells me that inland this takes a while. I was advised by a different representative in the past that the sponsorship eligibility part is typically the fastest and he was unsure why that part was taking so long. Only to find out that is still what is being processed almost a year later. She stated that my action is required on my police checks and that is what they are needing...(I am so confused, I turned in my FBI paperwork when I mailed in my application in July last year, it was initially sent with application- only thing I didn't do was the medical check beforehand.) She says oh, well disregard that action required then. No medical checks have been requested yet, they are still at stage 1. They were just collecting information for stage 2 but if it was sent in then nevermind. After you get first approval then we will request the second part of stage 2 the medical check and send you forms. So, there is a glitch in the system because automated system says we need med checks, and myCIC only says action required (no messages or notes).
I am frustrated. Why is the sponsorship eligibility taking so long? Have they even started on the background things? Do they actually need something from me and how do I know if I am constantly getting different information every time I talk to a IRCC representative? I could really use some good news.....
Hey! I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it's takes cic to return an incomplete package. I feel I might made a big mistake with translating (not translating!) two documents (birth certificate and citizen card) from Italian to English and including an untranslated expired police check. I'm worried as my husbands status with IEC in Canada is invalid after July 27.
I want to
A) Find out how badly I messed up. Will this have my package sent back? It's comprehensible like French...
B) How long will it take to get the package back.
C) If it's going to be longer than 6weeks to here from CIC, what are my best routes to keep him legal to get a OWP.
Thanks

Yeah, I totally get where you're at. Usually, Americans are suggested to apply Outland, as their application is sent to Ottawa and is apparently processed faster. Nevertheless, we are here now (and inland and outland applications are supposed to take 12 months by December of this year).
That said, I became just as frustrated, because my Sponsorship eligibility started last July, and was not approved until March 21 of this year. Same day, my wife got her medical request (to re-do it, it was expired by 3 months), and a week later she was sent her approval in principle. All the while, the only thing CIC asked for was medicals. Otherwise, unless I poked them, they were silent. So I can totally relate.
My wife landed about two weeks after her medical was submitted. So, try not to let it bother you. I understand that you want it over -- every one does. But, rest assured, the time is coming when you too will get a flurry of activity. And when you do, get it all done as fast as you can, and you'll move on with the rest of your lives .

I have been to QC (Montreal and QC city) and NS (just Halifax). I was just there for 2 days so did not get to go to Cape Breton. There is something about NS maybe it is the proximity to the sea. I wish I could live there.
And I saw parts of BC on the show, Alone, it is so remote and beautiful. I want to visit Banff National Park.
