There is a huge push by the Trudeau administration to normalize as many people as possible who have no status or expiring status. IRCC resources have probably been redirected there. The reason? Lifetime Liberal votes. His father did the same thing. The country was a total disaster after that for 15 years until the conservatives turned it around. The Liberals know they have no chance of winning the next election but they are gearing up for making Mark Carney the next leader and ensuring more votes in swing ridings (e.g. 905).
Anyone here who completed bio and got AIP, SA, but waiting for medicals for more than 2 months now (didn't need and didn't apply for SOWP)? Looking at the tracker and thread here there doesn't seem to be any pattern to which our cases are being handled (or not).

Exactly. No pattern at all. Some are getting their eligibility in progress or done and getting AIP/SA and background check isn't started while some have background in progress and eligibility not started. Such vague processes and even vague in how the files are being picked up.
Some are getting processing done in a couple of months while others are waiting several months with no updates.

Just send in the papers from the medical clinic via the webform from your previous visa if you have them. If you don't then don't worry about it, they will ask for it eventually and it's a super simple process, and if not who cares?
You have an AIP so what are you worried about????? You have everything most people need.

I agree, I've been observing many threads and different groups and things have been quite inconsistent and chaotic to understand how it's all being process
You can't just do a medical. My wife was sent a request for her visitor visa. That was completed. When it was completed we sent in the records for her PR application and it was updated in the system.
Most likely in your case if you already have an AIP you won't need a medical.
