You can apply for OWP since you got AIP. Just apply. Once you get the OWP approval, you are back into a worker status while waiting for your PR approval.

I am not familiar with online forms these days. Does it allow you to put in the actual status expiration date? (like when your previous status expired, e.g. 6 months after entry if as a visitor)

I did just that and it didn't accept it, because of course, its been so long Then I did 6 months from the date of my AIP, but I feel that cant be correct.
