Hello, Can anyone who applied for newborn reply me.I just need some help what documents required for passport application.
me and my wife on PR.We are planning to apply for newborn who is born in canada recently.We recieved birth certificate in Ontario.

I called ircc today they mentioned the citizenship certificate is required but on the website it mentioned either birth certificate or proof of citizenship any one proof is required.

Kindly advise on what documents to submit for getting passport for newborn.also, what's the processing time for minor applications?

No experience in this context, but Citizenship Cert is only if child is born outside of Canada. Canadian Birth Cert should suffice in your case (a Citizenship Cert is also an alternative here too, but not required if you can provide that Canadian Birth Cert). Just sharing my timeline

Mailed in my passport application via Canada post: April 14th
Delivered: April 21st
CC charged: May 19th
Passport received in mail: cannot remember exact date, week of August 15th

Passport received 9th of August. Citizenship certificate was not in the package so hopefully that gets back sometime soon.

Received the citizenship certificate today which finally concludes the process for me. Good luck everyone, it's right around the corner!

Timeline:
Application mailed = 12th of April, 2022
Application received= 13th of April, 2022
CC charged = 6th of May, 2022
Passport received = 9th of August, 2022
Citizenship certificate received = 23rd of August, 2022

Wife finally got the passport today (applied in person back on 7th of March). Our journey is now complete and wish everyone here the very best of luck with their journeys. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and support throughout the last couple of years, it has been absolutely wonderful and I'm forever grateful!

I gave a call to 6868 number and was told my application was approved and moving to next steps. When I asked what are the next steps and how long it will take the agent was not giving straight answer but I would assume it would be printing and mailing of passport. Do anyone know how long the “next steps” take usually.

about 10 days, it happened to us, wife phoned 10 days ago and told her it was approved and we got the passport today. Best of luck!

When printing has started, do passports usually arrive within 5 days?

My passport was issued (printed) August 5 and I got it by mail on August 10.

Called Service Canada for the second time and described my situation.
The first time I contacted them there was no help provided however this time they agreed to initiate my transfer request.

My application was delivered at Mississauga by May 27 and as per agent they started working on it by 4th August.
When I asked the agent that as per the posted timelines then my passport should be delivered by 13 weeks and I am already at 10th.. his response was -13 weeks from the day we start working on application.

he said transfer fees plus other changes will be somewhat around 150$ .. which I don’t understand but said yes for the transfer..

Cant wait for tentatively 7 months for the passport. Also, not sure why I need to pay 150$ foe a single passport or for the delays at Service Canada..

I will keep the forum posted with the updates..

Did they charge your CC prior to the transfer? If so, do you remember when? We have similar timelines, but no CC charge yet for me
