Hello!! congratulations for receiving the passport.
I have same timeline as yours but i didn't get anything from them yet so just wanted to know do you receive your passport in mail directly or received any email or message before getting it ??
thank you. I received it in post mail directly. no email or message about delivery.

Hi my application recived Mars 7 I called today he told me every things looks good nothing pending next steep is printing departement???
Thx

I have requested transfer for my daughter’s application more than a week ago and haven’t received any call yet. Travel date is approaching (sep 3) so I’m getting very anxious. Does anyone know what I should do?
I was pretty much in the same situation as you. I requested for a transfer a month before my travel date (travel date Aug 25th). I was getting anxious also, but they eventually did call me (on Aug 20th) to let me know that I can pick up my passport on the 24th(day before my travel). I was told that they could call you as late as 2 days before your trip. so I would suggest to hang tight. they should definitely call you by Tuesday next week.

Also keep in mind my call from local office came on a Saturday and it was from a private number. so make sure you attend any call from private number even if its on the weekend.

Hello
Anyone knows if local offices consider the time for visa application when they accept the transfer request??

Hello, Can anyone who applied for newborn reply me.I just need some help what documents required for passport application.
me and my wife on PR.We are planning to apply for newborn who is born in canada recently. We recieved birth certificate in Ontario.

I called ircc today they mentioned the citizenship certificate is required but on the website it mentioned either birth certificate or proof of citizenship any one proof is required.

Kindly advise on what documents to submit for getting passport for newborn.also, what's the processing time for minor applications?
you only need the birth certificate of new born and parents pr cards. thats it. Apply in person at service canada. Takes around two months. You can do express pickup to if you have travel tickets.

Picked up the passport yesterday.

Applied first week of July via mail, credit card was charged after 2 weeks (mid July). Called them as travel date was coming up in next 30 business days and still needed to apply for visa. They transferred the file on 15Aug. On 17Aug, got a call to pick up the passport on 19Aug. Went to Mississauga office for pick up, only 15 people in line, I was in and out in 15min.

Not sure about other people’s experience but this process was super easy. It looks like they are getting better now and demand for passport is going down.
Yes process is very fast now. That initial peak has died now. People are easily getting passports in a month now! So finally some relief. Phew :D

Update: called 6868 number couple times in the last few days, the agent wasn't very helpful. Since the transfer has been initiated, it's all up to the local office whether to accept and/or process it. 6868 agent told me to expect a call from my local office which I never received, so I decided to line up in the office this morning. Arrived at 6am, ~10 people ahead of me. Passport officers opened the door at 7am and people were triaged into three lines: already applied/transfer requested; new application for urgent travel (travel within 2 biz days) and normal walk-in application. For those already submitted application, Officers wrote down some personal info and file number as well as checked proof of travel. Few minutes later, an officer came out handed me a passport pickup slip for 3pm tomorrow. I headed home at 730am. Almost at the end of this passport journey.
Final update:
Picked up my passport at my local passport Canada this afternoon. Finally Done!

Oh wow, wanted to check other's experiences to see where I'm at currently. It seems like the govt. now operates at ludicrous speeds.

From ON to QC (first time application, marked 46 days or more)
Sent: Aug 22
Received: Aug 24
CC Charged: Aug 26

I hope everything goes well from now on. I'll write an update post once I receive the passport.

Picked up my passport today from local office. Was in and out in 10 minutes.

First Canadian new passport, mail in application with travel date August 27,2022

App received : June 28,2022
CC charged : July 28,2022

Called toll free number on August 22 as travel date was approaching. Agent told me he will put a transfer request and I'll receive a call from my local office before my travel date. He also said there's $45 transfer fee and I need to provide local office my travel proof.
On August 24 received call from local office, they verified some personal details and told me to pick up passport on August 26. They did not ask for any travel proof. When I went there today for pick up no one asked me for $45 transfer fee or any travel proof. Passport was handed over to me after checking my ID.

Flying to USA tomorrow :) :)
