I recieved the email alert on my phone and my heart skipped a beat lol and didn't know if i should open the attachment or wait till i got home to my computer at home. So my first reaction with full of adrenaline was to let you guys know and see if you had any idea. I was assured by some of the members here that i could open it on my phone, which i did, and found out its a letter requesting my wife (PA) to pay for for biometrics and submit the receipt via IRCC WebForm. So thank you for your earlier reply about WebForm as it has come in handy at a perfect time.

My time line is as follows:
Application recieved Dec 17 2018
AOR recieved Feb 12 2019
Payment for Biometric fees Feb 21 2019

P.S. Both eCas and GCKey say that it is still being processed.

Yeah i think that explains. But is it strange that they would ask the PA for payment without sponsor getting SA yet?

Nothing strange. I had the same.
I would tell you even more... it is also normal to pay for biometrics before application submittion!

Ok, good to know. I usually react to any email from CIC the same way, with panic and heart attack, so don't worry about it

So, if your eCAS for sponsor part (I'm stressing it because they are two independent parts: sponsor's and PA on eCAS) is saying "being processed" that means you didn't get your SA yet. But it's normal, because you have just 9 days since your AOR, it's inside a normal timeline.

For biometric, if (if) CIC followed their own instructions and manuals, your process would get along with what they say. And they say PA needs to provide biometric before they (I mean CIC) even start processing your application. But we all know CIC do whatever they want. But in general it's totally fine to get a biometric payment request before your SA comes.

Thanks for the kind words, I enjoy helping where I can. We’re all in the same boat and it’s nice to relieve people of their stresses if I can.

We’ve got some very good people on these forums who’ve picked up great knowledge from their experiences, even at this stage of the process. We keep learning more too.

20 days since I got any updates , still waiting on SA.

Mine took around 20 days to come through. What does your ECAS say?

I wouldn’t worry too much. Just keep an eye out on your ECAS. To settle your nerves, even if it’s the worst case scenario with SA, and your sponsor is rejected - CIC still give you 30 days to provide additional doc to further your case!

All in all, patience is the key and you’ve done the hardest part and secured AOR1

That's a bit of a relief to know I hope I hear something soon though.
