Are you suggesting that the Conservatives could revoke this program and cancel all the applications?
I think that is very unlikely to happen. However there are some instances where they have canceled programs in the past and returned applications. I think the risk of that is very very low here.
Their policies are consistently much less favourable for immigration than the Liberals.
I would be worried they will do the following if they end up in office:
- De-prioritize processing for this program leading to even longer processing times, meaning years.
- Cancel work permit programs connected to CUAET. Existing work permits would remain valid however it will no longer be possible to extend a work permit through the CUAET program. If someone wants to extend, then would need an approved LMIA from their employer or meet other extension / new work permit requirements that apply to everyone
- Cancel any other temporary immigration measures supporting Ukrainians, including any that may be planned but not implemented yet. If someone wants to immigrate, they have to qualify through the same processes as everyone else. No special pathways or treatment.

I will also add that if the Conservatives had been in power, it's pretty much guaranteed this immigration program would have never existed, same for the CUAET program. People who have applied through this program to sponsor family members are extremely extremely lucky the Liberals were in power at the right time.
My mother in law is from Alchevsk, which is in the Russian occupied part of eastern Ukraine. She has noone left there. All her family lives either here in Canada with me or in Australia. There is no possibilty of her ever returning to Alchevsk. She would be treated very badly for sure. She is an ardent Ukrainian, although, ethnically, Russian.
This war is very similar to certain wars of the past. The Irish and the English. The Serbians and Croatians. The people of Rawanda. They all involve intense animosity between two very similar peoples. They maybe undersrtand and focus on their differences, but the rest of the world sees them as essentially the same.

I'm very sorry for her situation. Hopefully her application is processed soon. My ancestry is Ukrainian and I'm very involved in the community in Canada. We are so extremely lucky the Liberals were in office when all of this went down. If it had been the Conservatives, your spouse would have needed to qualify and be selected to sponsor her mother through the regular PGP program and the situation for your mother in law would have been so much worse. That's the reality. There would have been no preferential treatment like the Liberals introduced.
You are most likely correct about the Liberals and Conservatives. We do have to thank the Liberals for all they have done for Ukrainians. Are you suggesting that a Conservative government will not provide the same amount of aid to Ukraine?

They absolutely will not. Aid will go down. A Conservative government will be unfavorable to the situation in Ukraine.
Similar to what will happen if Trump is elected?
My wife tells me that Russians are brain washed into supporting Putin. She has always hated Putin. I am happy that we are both politically aligned. I am not sure why the world has trouble seeing Putin for what he is, a threat to world stability, security and democracy.

Yes
Harris gave Trump a good drubbing yesterday so hopefully she will be successful in November. As for Trudeau, his chances look slim so we better get ready for four years of Conservative rule.
Do you think that Ukraine will now be allowed to use ATACMS to strike deep insude Russia?
Do you think these applications will ever be processed?
The government has made some serious cuts to immigration recently. Will this in any way affect this special class of Ukrainian PR applicants?
hi is anyone who applied in January 2024 get Aor?
