Hi All,
I have a question regarding OHIP for my spouse.
I’m a permanent resident and living in Ontario.
My spouses inland PR application is inprogress(received SA letter and Eligibility approval letter) and received OWP recently.
Can she get OHIP?
have a nice weekend
Thank you
P
Yes, she can. Go to the big big one, not all of ServiceOntario do this. I know for sure this one does, because I got mine from there,
Toronto: Sheppard and Doris
47 Sheppard Avenue East, Unit 417
M2N 5N1
Toronto, Ontario
Bring AIP letter, proof of address with you (read the required documents section).
"\
- are applying for permanent residence in Canada and:
- have submitted an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and
- IRCC has confirmed they have reviewed the application and that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply (see document requirements) and
- you have not yet been denied

i think having OWP make her eligible for OHIP and she can register at any Service Ontario

If I remember correctly, applying with OWP (I could be wrong), they ask for employment letter or something like that. I don't know if the PA is currently working now or not.
Hey guys - just got the AOR recently and I was planning to apply for an Open Work permit for my spouse. However, she is on a study permit and currently studying in Canada. I am on PR though and tried to apply through her IRCC account but it doesn't let me apply an open work permit for a study permit holder and only lets me apply if the person is on a visitor visa or work permit. Is there anyone who can help in the process if you were in a similar situation and applied for a work permit for your spouse when they were on a study permit? Thanks in advance.

That's correct unless the WP document mentions that the eligibility has been passed for the PR application. In any case, it looks like OP's spouse got AIP, so they can apply with that.

Hmm 2 years, I am not sure, actually, I did the medical check for visitor record and they used the old result (was only 2 months apart)
