In Ontario we got an Full G for my Spouse while on TRV with a 5 Year Validity. However, address changes etc. needed to be done in person.

You should still book your appointment online because they will most likely book you mid-March/April, there is a long waitlist. We booked end of December and got an appointment early March. But they confirmed to me that if you have a valid driver’s permit from your home country and an international driver’s permit, you can legally drive past the 6-month mark.

I have PGWP which is expiring in Aug 2025, my husband sponsor me for PR in July 2024. By considering the IRCC pros seeing time for Inland sponsorship. It seems like I won’t get the PR before my workpermit expire.
So can I apply for OWP as my application for PR is in process?

There’s very high chances you will get your file completed by aug 2025, but on safeside apply your SOWP, just incase, cause even if your PGWP is about to expire and didn’t get final decision on your PR, you can apply on the last moment but its just another $155 i think, so why not do it now, nothing to loose here, cause if you have valid permit in hand you would have no problem applying/extending health cards/DL’s,etc

I agree with most of this but I would suggest wait till July at least. Since you already have a wp, you'll be on maintained status when you apply again in July for 6 months. And if you receive PR before a final decision is made on the WP, you can get the 155$ refunded.

i second this, and the fee is $255 ($155 application fee + $100 OWP fee)

if you read the thread you’d see a lot of us are in the same boat. I’m July 9th and I do not have Medical request yet too and security not started. I’ve always lived in Canada but on TR It has nothing to do with whether they are in the military.
