Do we need to wait for work permit approval letter via mail to apply for SIN or we can use the GC Key confirmation to apply for SIN?

On online phone automated service they are saying my eligibility is in review
And when i called ircc they are saying criminal check and biometrics are in process

I believe you would have to wait for the paper copy to be arrived.

Update: I can see the approval with document number. The approval date is Dec 13, same as the BVL not sure why they needed 1 week to update this. No letter, just GCKey updated

They are nasty like that, same thing happened to me! My BVl was Sep 17 and doc no showed up on Sept 26 with Sept 17 as the approval date in FD. I think they like to make people anxious.

Oh yeah I received it on September 30, like 4 days after approval. No strike back then fortunately.

Oh no, we were talking about the Open Work Permit, long way to go for COPR lol
