I have also received BVL for work permit yesterday. No final decision yet. Generally, they send both BVL and final decision on the same day.

Any update on your end?
Yeah but it's getting more unpredictable by the day. I got the Approval 9 days after BVL. Never really know with IRCC.

Just received the BVL today. Wondering how are they mailing the physical copy amid Canada post strike?

most likely it’s will be holding with the strike

The government just announced it's forcing postal workers back to work, and mail could start flowing as early as next week. Good news for people expecting PR cards and WPs (but not so great for workers' rights).

Congrats to everyone who’s file is progressing (slowly but surely) :) We just received PAL on Wednesday as well, which makes no sense to me as my husband already lives in Canada, but I see that some of you who also applied inland are getting PAL too..

Yes lol don’t see the purpose for it

I agree, it's a bit weird that they send it to inland applicants because inland people obviously can't access the services from within Canada. It seems they send it when PA eligibility has been completed/passed. You should receive AIP soon.

Received BVL for work permit a moment ago :). Suprised these folks works over weekend!!
A question - I had also applied for my Visitor extension yesterday, do you folks suggest me to withdraw it?

Congratulations . I dont see a point of the visitors extension tbh. It’s better to withdraw if you can get your money back. Btw they are not working on the weekends, i guess these are just system generated letters. Hopefully we all will get approvals next week and Canada post will finally deliver the paper copy

Does anyone know if IRCC uses the background check results received for SOWP and then just transfer those results to the PR application? Or will they do 2 separate background checks like they do for Biometrics?

Actually, I would think that if one has Background Check completed for SOWP, they would know in the tracker/GCKey for PR application if the Background Check is marked as In progress for months or if it’s marked as Completed rapidly..

I think that the PR background checks are extensive compared to the work permit ones and hence take longer and anyways if they transferred the BGCs then mine would be completed by now which is not the case( i called ircc to check the status and security hasn't even started).

even in that case it's just a wild guess from us, we don't really "know" what they're doing :)
