I see most people get oath letter/ oath in progress within a few days after LPP/BG completed. It has been 10+ days for us. Do we know what causes delays at this step?
I did some analysis with the May-Jul data and I see that >85% people get it in a week. What is the reason for the delay for us unfortunate others?

I guess a lot of factors play role after all steps are completed in the tracker and only oath is left. I live in Maritimes and most applications have taken 2-4 months for oath scheduling from past 6 months applicants. For most of people applying from here, Montreal is the processing office. However, I see faster LPP to oath scheduling for applicants from Montreal. Then backlogs and other admin reasons. There could be applicants after us from the same city who would be processed before us depending on their situation( for eg. urgent processing in case of family illness, unexpected family event). Its hard to determine one reason but we cannot do anything other than being patient and waiting until the standard processing time of 7 months is passed.
Toronto is slower than other locations if your office is Scarborough or Mississauga, the wait it is a little longer.
Is anyone waiting on Prohibitions? Everything for me is complete except prohibitions. I have been waiting for it for over a month now. I received GCMS and it says that my prohibition is in progress since Nov 6. Background check and criminality is passed already.
Thanks for the explanation. I know there must be multiple factors, and logical delays. But my question was more about the (seemingly) random nature of delays for some people.

Thanks! Our office is Scarborough too. I guess it is only wait and watch.

Sometimes it just feels good to rant a bit and get support from the forum. I guess thats also what it is meant to be, in addition to information sharing. Thanks all!
This is common. The only communication received via email is AOR, Test, Fingerprint Request(in some cases) and citizenship oath. You would not get any email update for test result updates or background and LPP. You should keep checking tracker every Wednesday morning or Saturday morning for these updates. If only oath is left then you should receive an email first with all the details after the decision is made(which is an officer completes the review of all the info) and next step is oath scheduling, please also check your inbox and spam folders, the tracker is updated later. For oath, it can take from 1 week and upwards by IRCC. Good Luck.
Thankyou so much .
We participated in the virtual oath ceremony today, and it was an incredible experience! To all the applicants still waiting, keep your spirits high and stay patient.
Test, language and physical presence have been updated to completed. However, background and prohibitions are still in progress.
Got a reply from web form.
- The security background verification is in process.
- The criminal background verification is currently valid.
Is this security check? How long will it take?
from 1 day to 2, 3 4 years even more

Keep an eye on your email. I received the oath letter before the tracker was updated. LPP was still in progress when we received the invite.

What email address did you get the invite from? Is it typically from the regional office?

I have similar timelines..waiting for the Ceremony now. My office is Scarborough. Hoping to hear something soon. I had heard that it can take up to 15 - 20 days to receive the Oath details.
Me too, that’s why I was wondering…my office is Niagara Falls, apparently they are slow

I hope the timeline is correct, I got the LPP updates on November 26th
Can anyone guide if opting for a virtual ceremony or an in person one is quicker?
also which one gets you the citizenship certificate quicker? Asking as I have travel coming up and need to apply for a passport asap
I received an update yesterday. LPP was completed on December 9th.
My family of 4:
Myself and Daughter: LPP just completed. Only Oath is pending. Not sure when we will receive email for Oath appointment.
Wife: Authorities have requested additional proof of language proficiency as the submitted Adult Non-credited Report Card is not considered valid.
Son (Minor): Only background check is complete.
Given that I submitted all applications as a group, will my application be delayed until my wife's application is finalized?
