We filed the end of December, got SA the beginning of March, and have been waiting ever since. Despite submitting everything upfront with the old kit, they kept requesting stuff we'd already sent them and that slowed everything down quite a bit, but at six months I think we're still on track for an American applicant.
I know this is tough to answer but is there any indication how long it takes from background check in progress to decision made going through Ottawa? I am hoping for sometime soon!
I am SO happy to see things are finally moving forward for you! Yay!!
Our background check started mid-March and we just got DM. We're not the best example, though, because they kept asking us for stuff. Hopefully, the process will go faster for you.
that is normal, just wait and it will change to background check is in process as soon as they start. for my wife's application it took 2 months from Not Applicable to Background Check is in process. then after that everything went fast to approved, passport request and issuing of Visa.

New Delhi is very unpredictable. Few July-Nov applicants are still waiting to hear something on their files. That made me worried too but thankfully I can see things moving for me. Lets see how much time they take to send passport request.
