Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

You went in person just to check the status of your application? Why didn't you call them?

I had the similar issue, over the phone everytime same response it's under review but they didn't tell me that if their is an issue. Went in person as my travel date was coming closer. The lady told me that their is an issue with my credit card info that's why my file is just sitting there but no body call me. Then she made me to do the payment at there office and give me slip to pickup my passport after a week.

Hello all,

Sharing my husband and my timeline + updates so far:

Applications mailed out: Aug 24th
Cc charged: Sept 7th (Surrey) & Sept 1st (Gatineau)
Citizenship certificate received: Sept 14th - only for my husband

We applied for regular processing with upcoming travel dates in November. Fingers crossed and best of luck to all!

I am very confuse as was it a expedite processing or regular processing?
Did they send you the tracking info before sending your passport?
DId they send all of teh docs onto your mailing address or residential address?
What was your travel dates?

It was a regular processing application, no tracking info sent before passport received. Our mailing and residential address is the same.

Yes, we’re quite surprised too. No proof of travel, just the travel dates on the form. My travel date is the same and my credit card was charged earlier but somehow his application seems to have been processed really fast.

It was a regular processing application, no tracking info sent before passport received. Our mailing and residential address is the same.

It's been over 40 days for me credit card charged after 4 days of my application delivery and after the credit card charges nothing happened no certificate received

They received it on Aug 29th, but my credit card hasn't been charged and I've received no news! Starting to get worried because it seems like everyone sent their application to the Gatineau address. Has anyone done the same as me and gotten news? Thank you!

You sent it not that long ago, you have to wait, they dont charge your card right away...
Why did you send it to Missisauga though? As per canada.ca website, this Mississauga address is only for non-courier mail but they also specifically advise to better send via courier mail to Gatineau...

just picked up my passport at the post office.
Applied in person at service Canada on May 19 , no travel date , no urgency.
Almost exactly 17 weeks plus mailing time .

Wow. I applied on July 5 or thereabouts. So I guess I should get mine middle of November

We all (3 family members) applied together for the passport and mailed it on Jun 23.
Application received - Jun 27, 2022
CC Charged - Jul 18, 2022

My wife and son received their passports on Sep 9, 2022, but still waiting for Canadian citizenship certificates.
I received my Canadian Citizenship certificate on July 27, 2022, but still waiting for my passport.

I called passport customer service to check about my passport and they told me that it's under approval process and I have to wait until Oct 2022.
This is very strange that we all applied together but mine is still under process.

Hi everyone, I had a quick question regarding the passport application. I have a few questions for anyone in a similar situation:

Section 1:
Mother's surname at birth: if I was adopted and don't know my birth mother's surname, what do I put for this? do I use my adoptive mother's surname?

Section 2:
Guarantor: just wanted to confirm, can this be a relative, like an aunt or uncle?

Section 7:
For employment section, if I am still working for the employer currently what do you put as end date? can you leave this blank since I don't have a end date as of now?
