I applied for a passport in person at a Service Canada office. I provided my application, Certificate of Citizenship, and driver's license. The agent scanned all the documents, and everything went smoothly. After making the payment, the agent gave us a receipt, but we noticed that there was a mistake—"one letter" in my given name was incorrect on the receipt.
When I track my application online, it only shows results when I enter the name from the receipt, not the name I filled out on the application or the one on my ID.
My question is? Will the name on the receipt be used on my passport, or will they refer to my application, ID, and other documents to use the correct name?
Thanks

Thank you, what make me worry is when i track the application online it only accept the name on the receipt which is one letter wrong on my middle name.

Est pick up date - Oct 11 2024 ( Express Service)
Picked up - Oct 11 2024
Office: Calgary Sunpark dr
Passport application submitted: Sept 5, 2024
Anticipated mail out: 19 Sept 2024
Passport ready on 23 Sept 2024
Picked up on: Oct 01, 2024
I had to call them multiple times as i didnt get the passport after the anticipated mailed out date. After calling a few times over the week, they asked me to pick up the passport from the same location. After going there, the receptionist told me to go to downtown location, it seems the agent on phone told me the wrong place for pick up. Went and picked up the passport without paying extra fees. Also they have a different line for passport pick up at downtown location.
Oath Date - 4th Sep
Passport application - 6th Sep (in person 74 Victoria St, Toronto)
Express requested - Yes ( Extra 50$, Total $216) Need to show proof of travel and write a letter explaining situation.
Passport received - 11th Sep
Hope this timeline helps others.
Quick Question - Are they giving passports with the new design throughout canada or still the old design is being given ?
Hello pals, I have a pick up date on the 18th. Curious if it will be ready by then because the status on the tracker is still "We have received your application and reviewing it". I spoke to cus. service rep but they don't see any remark but see the same status. Thanks in advance.
The 10 days processing seems to be the fastest there.. Got my passport exactly a week from application. I don't understand the logic LOL but I can't complain.
I applied at a passport center too and was curious about couple of things. What is the print date on passport? Was it printed like 4 /5 days after application? And shipping took 2 days or did you pick it up. Thank You.
hey guys, about to apply for my passport in an in-person application between Nov 1st-5th. I'm in downtown so the closest office for me is the one on Victoria St.
Strangely, I can't seem to find any appointments there ... anyone who did a walk-in into that office recently, how is their wait time? And for standard in-person passport applications with pickup option selected, how long do they generally take?

Wait time isn't much. I reached there 8.30 (walk-in) and was out in an hour & 15 mins. Pretty smooth. Pick up is available for $20 and current pick up timeline I guess is 2 weeks from the application date. No need to book an appointment.
Is a 2-day wait for a passport application necessary for someone who has received certification on paper, or is it only applicable for online processes?Additionally, if the ceremony is on a Wednesday, would the 2 business days be counted as Friday or the following Monday?

Its for paper. E Certificate don't have any waiting. Wed ceremony, you can go to passport office on Mon.

I had Oath on Friday 11th. Monday was a holiday and i went on Wednesday. So technically I went on a tuesday- 2nd business day from the oath date. I took a chance since i found an appointment. If it worked for me, it might work for you. If you dont have an appoitnment then its better to wait another day. I know in some places there is a long line and 2 hours of wait. Go to a passport Canada office and not a regular service center if you want it soon

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m in a similar situation where the name on my receipt differs from my actual name, and I can only track the application using the name on the receipt. Could you let me know if you received your passport with the correct name, despite this discrepancy? I’d really appreciate any advice or insights on how you resolved it. Thanks!
