Update - just tried now and managed to link OWP. At least I think it's the OWP, lol. Under type it says "online application", the code for it starts with W, and it says submitted Feb 2. They received my app on Feb 9, but I signed the OWP on Feb 2 so I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Nope, as the name suggests, it's an "open" work permit and once you have it, it enables you to simply apply for any job that'll have you, the way you would in your home country. Keep in mind there's separate fees you need to pay for it (and a separate receipt you need to put in with the OWP form when you put together your application.)
Sent my wife’s PR application w/ open work permit application on Jan 31 2018 received my cic mail room feb 1st.
I just got off phone with CIC as I haven’t heard anything from them he said the application has been returned on Feb 28 in the mail because it’s incomplete.
So now my wife’s current post graduate work permit is expiring next month Apr 16. The agent said they have updated some of the forms and to resubmit with those.
Anyone know if my wife will still get implied status when we re send the application? We are very concerned
Yes your wife can still avail the implied status provided that ur application will not be returned once her visa expires. It wuld be very much safe that u will renew her permit
You can pick to either put in passport info or place of birth, both should work. Use UCI and Family Name because you don't have the App Number for the OWP at this point.
Do you know if there is a recommended time limit for when to apply for the inland application if your spouse is moving over on a visitor visa? My spouse will be coming over in June (will have a return flight booked). We have already started completing most of the paperwork so that we could immediately apply but should we wait a certain amount of time?
