Anyone got test invite? Still waiting here - Scarborough. I keep calling them and they say to "wait"... getting frustrated.

Sorry for your situation. I know it is frustrating. Tomorrow will be the 5th local ceremony (for us) that we haven’t been invited to....even though we have been oath ready for over 5 months and keep being told “without a doubt, you will be invited to the next one”

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 9, 2018.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 21, 2019.
3. We started processing your application on January 29, 2019.
4. We sent you a notice on January 15, 2020 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on January 31, 2020 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
5. You became a Canadian citizen on January 31, 2020.

My wife and I couldn’t attend the test in December as we got to travel urgently to India and later we submitted rescheduling using IRCc web form as the email address provided in the email didn’t work.

we receive a reply that we have to send a letter to the office please advise

After taking Oath, you will receive Certificate of Citizenship. Once the eCAS status changes to completed, you can apply for Canadian Passport.

You can refer to CGI Toronto (https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/eoi.php?id=surrender_certificate) if you are in Toronto or check the information under BLS India (https://www.blsindia-canada.com/renunciation_ppt.php) for information on how to surrender Indian Passport.

It is not cancelled automatically. You will have to go to BLS and surrender your passport then they will provide you with the surrender certificate.
