I did through webform. They never requested, i was asked by my rep to send updates once a month with pictures and other support documents, from the moment I got case number.
For us, myCIC was updated to say "You passed the medical exam" 4 business days after the medical was completed, and ECAS also updated to say "medical results have been received."
Do you know if the clinic that you went to uses the e-medical system? That would likely make a big difference in turnaround time as e-medical allows them to electronically submit straight to IRCC with minimal turnaround time?
I also wonder if it depends where your application is at the time of the medical? For us the medical was done on March 1st, and the file transferred to Sydney, Australia only on March 12. So the medical was requested by Sydney, Canada and processed by Sydney, Canada via the e-medical system -- I wonder if that had a lot to do with the speedy turnaround? If your file got transferred to Aus while medical was in process and the clinic didn't use e-medical, it might take quite a bit longer for it to get to the right agent and updated across all systems? That's just a thought, I'm not really sure (aside from whether e-medical is used) what could impact the speed with which medical passed is registered to your online account...
I am pretty sure my application is in missisauga as I had a request for extra information from there and an email from a case manager confirming it had been received also listed as working at that office. It was e-medical and I have a copy of it too. I dont really know where to call to chase up whether it was received or not? Good thing yours was so quick!
Has everyone who submitted the medical, passed the medical? Mine was submitted from NZ 6th March 2019 and still not been acknowledged on either ECAS or GCKey at all. On ECAS still says we sent you medical instructions and GCKey says we requested medical. How long does it normally take to pass and has anyone had a status saying medical results received at all?
06 Mar 2019 - Medical instruction letter received/dated
12 Mar 2019 - Medical test done
20 Mar 2019 - The clinic uploaded the medical report onto the e-Medical (they forwarded me the report via email as I had requested them to do so)
22 Mar 2019 - I saw the message "Medical results have been received" in the client application Status portal.
Since we are using representative it takes a bit longer to receive the CIC correspondence.

See this worries me because I also have the copy of my results from the clinic and confirmation they sent it but more than 2 weeks on and still no acknowledgement from Immigration at all. Any idea how best to follow up?

This was super fast for me unexpected even faster then express entry .
Good luck to everyone and CPC-M starting picking up files fast .
BGC can start before transfer. We already saw it happen to a few members here. Their BGC starts immediately after AOR1. I suspect that means IRCC considers those cases are either very straightforward or very suspicious so that it will take either very short or long time. As you can see, my response may not be a valid response either. Remember people here are all sponsors and applicants not IRCC officers. You don't expect definitive answer in some cases.
I guess the reason for early background check are multiple PCC’s.if you’ve visited 2-3 countries and submitted more thn one PCC, they started checking your background before transfer for the countries you have visited, and thn transfer it to your local VO.

I really doubt that this is the reason. Ours has had background check processing from the beginning and my husband only has one PCC, from Germany. Outside of Europe he's only ever visited Canada, the US, and India (and all for way less than 6 months). I've been paying attention to others who also have said their background check is processing from beginning and definitely have not noticed the PAs having complicated travel/residence histories. Alas, I think this one is going to remain a mystery!
In my GC keys it shows 'we have not recieved your biometrics. But the PA has done biometrics like a month ago and it even shows biometrics enrollment number and everything. What is the meaning of this?
For anyone else who is interested in the behind-the-scenes operations of IRCC and how applications are selected to stay in Mississauga, I came across an old post recently that provides some concrete information.

Thanks for posting this @schweisy and thanks to @SeineToHumber for requesting the information. It’s enlightening for all the recent applicants transferred to CPC-M.
It’s a shame they wouldn’t share the conditions an application needed to meet during the triage process to be transferred to Mississauga. It really would have given us a great insight as to how it all works behind the scenes.
