No it is not necessary. Your passport is only used to prove your citizenship.

Hello everyone 12 feb applicant here
Received Sa and AIP a week ago
And still waiting for something soon since there are many after me got the DM and the landing date
So what the estimate time To get something from them after what i received

Where are you located.
I am in same boat as you are,got DM and SA ad AIP one week back still no letter.
I am located in Ottawa.

I didnt receive the DM yet when i called they told me they still prossessing my background chek really stressful
