Hey, I got my medical done on the 24th August with a panel physician. Just wondering if anyone knows on average how long it would take for IRCC to ge the results? I’m in Toronto so I’m assuming it make be a little longer.
Hello,
I believe that IRCC gets the medical results from the physician pretty quickly, within 1-10 days, for most straightforward exams, if physician office submits results via E-Medical electronic system. If physician office submits via regular mail, then it may take longer for IRCC to receive med exam results.
The great news is that it appears that once IRCC gets our medical exam results directly from the physician, IRCC seems to be posting an update on our online CIC application pretty quickly, in terms of med exam passed, etc. Surprisingly, on the CIC website, it states that the med exam update may take a few months (or longer) to post on our online account, but from the posts on this forum and end-of-2017 forum, they are posting update within a few weeks.

Hi Guys,

I just got the AOR and I was able to link the PR application. My question is how can I link the one for OWP? I've tried to link it via UCI and Family name and it's telling no match found. Who's UCI number should I put in? PA or the Sponsor's UCI? Thank you. And do I neee to do under Sponsor's MyCIC or PA's MyCIC?

December here. Background check still ongoing.
Hi Everyone, please share if any of you have an online update for the Review of Eligibility for Permanent Residency application.
If not, do you know about when IRCC/CIC starts updating this part of the process (at which month, or step, after submitting application) ? Also, is it Review of Eligibility for the Sponsor, the principal applicant, or both?

Thank you.

I used the UCI that was in the online account from my linked PR application, and my family name. I think you're okay to link it to whichever account you've linked the PR application to.

The OWP should be under the PA's name, not the Sponsor, because the PA is the one applying for the OWP.

As what I've read on the 2017 thread, it usually happens towards the end of the process like 1-2 months before 12 month mark.

Got Medical Exam Request on August 30, today I check the ECAS PA changed to In Process, the newest item is the medical request. However, there is no news about the background check. My question is, does medical already 1 step ahead of background check or they can actually run in parallel? Thank you for your answer!

My medical request was done on Aug. 30th and I also saw my Background Check status changed to " We are processing your background check..." at the same time.
I am not sure how it has been for other applicants...perhaps others can also answer as well.

My background check started processing a few days after I did my medical so it's at that general time, yeah.

Hello,

I am new to this forum and would appreciate if anyone can help me. I had sent inland application on June 18th to sponsor my wife and got AOR on August 9th. She is on visitor status in Canada. We had not applied for open work permit with our spousal sponsorship application. But, now we want to. So, am I able to apply online or have to do paper application? We have already applied for her visitor extension (online) as her 6 month stay is ending on 6th October.

Also, please note that the address to send the application has been changed. The Vegreville is now closed. You will send it to Edmonton. Find the application in the CIC website. You'll find everything there.

Thank you! That helps. Can you also please help with difference in AOR & AIP? Sounds like AIP is similar to AOR?
AIP is Approval In Principal, comes at the last stage closer to your Decision Made stage. AOR is Acknowledgment of Reciept which means CIC has acknowledged your application and initial validations are looking good.
