Does anyone know what the medical examination stands for? I remember hearing someone saying that it involves chest xrays, etc., but I just made an appointment in Vancouver with Dr. Desmond P Dwyer, and the whole thing will cost me $290,-. That seems to be a little low, if they're going to make photos as well..... But looking on my IMM 1017E form, it doesn't' state anything about xrays.... Can someone offer me some help??
Medical examination has Physical test (blood pressure, body check) , Blood test, Urine test and X ray. IMM 1017E does not have breakdown. But you will have all this test done by the physician and if they have e-medical . You won't need to take picture with you, they will take a picture onsite .and once they have your results upload it to IRCC .

Good luck!

We did the medical 2 days ago and it cost 285$ per person in Toronto, physical exam, chest x-ray rays, urine sample and blood samples, it took 3 hours all facilities in the same place, so make sure the mobile as enough battery... It can be long otherwise...

The tests were basic, I have no idea why it needs to be a specific panel physician, sincerely I think the family doctor we have here in Canada could have done a better job .

Anyway , hope for the best.
Thanks for your reply! What did you have to bring; passport, IMM 1017E form, anything else?

Hi, I applied in April 2018. I did not get a medical request from CIC. Can I complete My medical test before I get a request from CIC? If yes then after my medical test How can I submit a medical report to CIC?
Hello,
I am a March 6, 2018 applicant and I just got my medical request, and from our forum, I see that several other early March applicants have also just gotten their medical requests as well, so it seems that CIC is working on the March 2018 applicants for medical requests.
If you are able, perhaps you can wait a few more weeks, 3-4, and see if April applicants start getting their requests (and you too). I know it's hard to wait, but I think you will be next very soon!
Best to you :)

Hope you get it soon , I`m seeing from these posts that it takes an average of 2-4 months
I'm hoping I will though unfortunately I probably wont get it for a while. Found out that my status as a visitor expired and, had I found out a month sooner I could have sent in paperwork to have that fixed but unfortunately I realized this about a month too late. If my husband had his passport, we would attempt making the 2 hour drive to the boarder so I can reenter as a visitor but since he doesn't have his passport we don't want to risk me not being allowed back into Canada so I'm just chilling here, hoping that for some reason all my stuff gets processed quickly or that I get to be one of the outliers that still gets a work permit while their status is expired.

Right!? I phoned the clinics in Edmonton and also tried Red Deer. All of them charge around $400. Craaazy expensive.
Wish it only cost $400 in NL. Costs of my wife’s medical was:

$175 for the physical exam
$100 for bloods
$300 for x Ray

Total cost $575! There was only one place that does the medical here and they send you off to the local hospital for the tests, hence so expensive!

But whatever the cost all worth it now she is a PR!
Wow. I do hope that's the same with mine. Haha

Yesterday submitted work permit fee using Web Form. Today got the email from CIC about receiving my sponsorship application. Successfully linked OWP and PR application online.

File received by CIC: 7th August 2018

As i already have Application file number for open work permit, can they return it for insufficient funds in case they do not accept the payment receipt submitted through Web Form

Where in Alberta did you go to get yours done? I'm trying to decide if I should drive to Medicine Hat or Calgary
Dominion Medical Centre in Edmonton. I was done in like two hours and it's all in the same area (you have to cross a road at one point to go do the second half of the exam). All in all, $398. I did the exam on a Monday, decided to check my status on Friday (not really expecting anything) and it already said medical passed.

It was also very easy to set up - they had openings the very next day, your schedule permitting. I had to delay mine a few days (you can't be on your period for the exam as it messes with the urine sample), but they were very flexible with arranging the whole thing.

My wife went there as well for her PR before so it was a no brainer for me.

March 5, applicant, just received my medical request. :)
Congrats !

Had you submitted PCC and schedule A in advance? Was there any communication from IRCC before getting the medical request except the AOR?

I am kinda started getting worried now. My application received on March 13th and portal still says " Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility."

I just figured now that I didn't hand sign the IMM 5669 form? I only electronically signed my name. Will the whole application be returned?
Probably, I found that one particularly cheeky

From full guide...

Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
Validating your form

You (the principal applicant and any family members who need to provide this form) must submit a Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) which has been filled out on a computer and has been validated. This will help to eliminate mistakes and help you submit a form that is complete. If you are unable to complete this form on a computer, or are unable to successfully validate the form, you must provide a written explanation which includes details of why you were unable to do so.

To validate and properly fill out your (each person’s) Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form(s):

  1. Fill out each form with the correct details for that person. You must also include the date and that person’s name in the signature section.
  2. Press the validate button found on the form. Any information missing from the form will be identified with a pop-up message or a red square around the fields which either still need to be completed, or have been completed incorrectly.
  3. After you successfully validate your form, print a copy. (You may also wish to save an electronic copy for your records.)
  4. Provide a written signature next to the printed name in the signature section of the document. For principal applicants under the age of 18, this should be a parent or guardian’s signature.
You must do the following when submitting a paper version of the form with your initial application:

    • In the signature section, type the name of the person for whom the form is being filled out. Also enter the date that the form is being filled out.
    • Validate the form.
    • Print the form.
    • Sign your name by hand. (Note: For principal applicants under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the form on the dependent child’s behalf.)
Important: If the form is not signed and dated per these instructions, it will not be accepted and your applications will be returned to you without being processed.

Hope you get lucky though.

My application was returned for the hand signature missing in this form. We initially sent on April 24th. Application got returned on May 29th. I signed and sent it back on May 30th. Sorry to say, but you just have to wait for the application to get returned then sign it and send it back.

Patience is going to be your key here. Since that's what I am doing now.
