Hi,
I applied for my wife PR + OWP.
I (sponsor) got the AOR email and my wife was able to link the applications to the online account.
The PR application is labeled as "Permanent Residence" but the OWP application say "Online Application"
Is that normal for OWP to say Online App. Also the date submitted is about a week prior to me actually posting it to CIC mississauga. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Hey guys,
I just wanted to know what the norm is for medical request timeline? Im just worried that they may have attempted to send the request but we never recieved the email. ( I've read that this has happened to some people on here)
I just got my SA today and havent had any updates on my wife' application side.
Our timeline:
Application received: May 9, 2018
AOR: June 9, 2018
Started principal applicant's application on June 18, 2018.
SA letter: August 17, 2018
Thank you very much!
Have you checked your ECAS? Is your app inland?

Yes.

Yes. No messages at all. The details about medical hasn't changed from "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes."
It is an outland application.
Thanks!
Just a little update - I did my medical on Monday and checked my status today and it already says that I passed the medical exam so they work fast. Not sure when exactly they received the results since I didn't check before today, but yeah, it's five days today.

Do u know how long does it takes for the OWP after u receive AOR ..!?
Do u know how long does it takes for the OWP after u receive AOR ..!?
You've already asked this and received an answer. It's 3-4 months from when you send the app. AOR is usually about a month after that so then you'll get your OWP 2-3 months after AOR.

Hello! February 8th applicant here.
A couple weeks ago, I went to get a medical exam done, as I want to get the restrictions removed from my OWP. I never formally received a medical request from CIC in regards to my PR application, but upon logging into my account today, I can see that under my PR application it says that my medical exam is passed. I never actually uploaded anything in regards to my medical exam, so I'm happy to see that it seems like they automatically got the files - probably because the doctor used eMedical
Anyways, I am now trying to figure out how to actually get my restrictions removed - I thought it was by applying to "change the conditions" of my Work Permit (IMM5710e), but there's nothing like that in the form - the only options are for me to pick that I'm applying for a new Work Permit either for the first time or with a neew employer, applying for a work permit with the same employer, restoring my status as a worker, or getting a new temporary resident permit (for inadmissible applicants only).
Is anybody here have experience with getting their restrictions removed? How am I supposed to fill out this form for that?
Hello, I have a 2 quick questions... on the CIC website, it states that for medical exams, we will be getting a form from CIC to bring to doctor, but if we decide to go ahead of time, such as what you did:
- what do we say to doctor to set up appointment without the form?, and what do we bring to appointment?
Thank you in advance and congratulations that steps are moving forward for you and your application process!

Happy to see that February applicants are getting their medical exam requests! Congratulations! It is great news to hear that CIC is also updating applicants so quickly with regards to passing medical exams!
I am a March applicant (March 6th), and I hope that March applicants will be getting medical exam requests soon!
Thanks for sharing update!

Oh, I see! The flagpoling isn’t frowned upon at all? And how did you guys do it - did you just show up at the border and explain the situation, or...? I’m just confused because most people in this forum seem to think it’s not a good idea to leave the country, as there is a risk you not getting back in and your entire PR application being canceled.
Hi - sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I researched and in my opinion, flagpoling isn't frowned upon. We just went to the border and told the border officer that we were flagpoling to renew the OWP. The officer knew exactly what we were doing and guided us to the office to do so. Just be sure to have your official OWP, passport and updated medical results showing the IME number and that it's complete/passed. People say that my wife being an American makes it easier. I don't know about those from other countries, maybe those are the ones that had issues flagpoling. Also it is suggested that people flagpole at the least busiest border crossing, so it's why we chose to go to Thousand Island Bridge. Niagara Falls border is very busy with tourists, exports/imports, etc and I noticed it's where some have had flagpoling issues like officers there would process only up to 60 apps per day and flagpoling is restricted to Tues, Wed and Thurs only. Thousand Island serves 24/7.
