March 5th applicant, my status for OWP changed to 'We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements'.
is your timeline fast? I am simply hoping for my online AOR received at this point so there is an implied status. what timeframe are Inland Applications and the processing center at ?

when did your application delivered? im may 16 inland applicant and still waiting for the AOR.
they said it takes 4-8 weeks for the AOR since the application received. Did you apply for OWP? because your PR application won't give implied status.
what I understand is, when you apply for the OWP you still need to have status and once your OWP application received/delivered by CIC, you are automatically in implied status until decision made for your OWP application.
We have our reception so we have to leave we have 200 guests in France. So I guess we have to do the extension or the 6 month extension
Hi, I'm also in agreement with Moek90. I (principal applicant) received my OWP approval this past Friday. A few days before the OWP (I didn't know when I was actually going to get the OWP approval), I went ahead and completed my visitor extension (I only need a visitor extension, not a visa extension) because it was going to expire in July and I wanted to ensure that I was going to be in implied status as a visitor (temporary resident), in the event that something might have gone wrong with my OWP application or with my PR application. I completed my visitor extension application and payed fee online. 5 days later, I obtained my OWP approval; oh well. At the end, I think it's best not to chance it, and it gives you peace of mind, knowing that you are doing your best to keep your status. This is only my opinion of course.
Hope you have a great time at your reception with family and friends!

Application for pr and owp was recieved on June 22 in Ontario
Oi, Hello my friends!
I am a Canadian citizen and my husband is Brasileiro and we have recently resubmitting ...yes RE, this week via express post and it arrived today! Our first application was sent May 3, and on June 19 we received it back with a few missing things. Signatures and an extra 150$ fee for the open work permit that we didn't know about.
My husband is here on a work visa (2 year) and it expires on July 21 2019. While we certainly are not panicking as I know many many people are on tighter time constraints than us of course we are constantly waiting...and waiting. Getting our application back in the mail after all that work last week was heartbreaking, but i learned you just have to keep your chin up and try again. I contacted a immigration consultant we have talked to a few times and we scrupulously went over the application again, re printing and resigning and double checking and on and on and on. I really truly hope that this time around we have more success.
We live in Alberta and have no dependent children. why did we apply for an open work permit when he has a valid 2 year? Well we want the freedom to possibly move to the next city over and for him to have more flexibility with his work. Any way I will be following this thread closely and will post updates at they come.
Best of luck with everyone on their journey. Its long, it sucks but it is also worth it to keep the ones we love with us.

You should probably get it soon. I hear many people say they hear back with their number in about 7-8 weeks. 9 weeks max.

Were you already working in canada before? My husband current has a two year visa until 2019, but wants to job freedom and applied for the OWP with our application. How long of a work permit did you receive? One year? Two?
How long is everyone elses work permits getting approved for? Thank you

I think the max is 2 years or earlier, depends on how long your passport is valid.

Thank you for the uplifting response
@BrasilCan! best energy for your application as well, all is going to be good this time!
Does anyone know how long is the grace period usually? On May 15, I submitted IMM 5406 (02-2018) delivered on May 16. should I worry?

Hello!
I wasn't working before I applied for my OWP. My OWP is approved for 2 years.
he is leaving July 4 coming back the end of July one week after the reception. he is going a bit earlier to iron out the last details (we married in march but didn't submit until last week and this is the formal reception for family and friends). I am going only for one week as I have to work. I included the family plane tickets and returns in the sponsor package, but I know they likely wont get to that yet. if its in que and not rejected he should be implied. I just don't want issues for him on the way back. the marriage part is actually a pain in the butt given that he is French he not looking for a passport, he actually just want to be here and working so we are together.
Yeah, you are in a tight situation to be honest. Like everyone else is saying, the OWP is what is giving you the implied status right now. But now is my question to everyone else; his current visa runs out on the 22nd of July, is he on implied status RIGHT NOW(through the OWP), or does he keep his current status from the previous visa(the one running out on the 22nd of July) until the 22nd? So the visitor extension will only apply for you, just in case you are worried that your OWP application might be send back to you. I would do more research on the situation by calling an agent of CIC, and more searching here on the forums, about leaving the country while being on implied status. And find out what his actual status is right now

called CIC they said should just get his visa stamp at the boarder like a visitor, as he likely wont be processed yet. where is the thread about leaving the country while processing. I might die if we cant take a vacation this winter.
Feb 02 applicant. Still waiting for OWP. Is there anyone else who is in same situation? What do you guys suggest?
