I received an email from CPC about 2 weeks before approval it was AOR , but it doesn`t have to be that way, usually you wait `till actual approval, and I`m in Bosnia and my hubby is in Canada
My wife received confirmation letter from CPC Mississauga by regular mail back then. It said that she is eligible to sponsor and that our file was transferred to Vienna.
Bobbi I read somewhere in this forum that it doesn't matter where you get your medical exam. Your husband can get his medical exam in Sweden if that's more convenient for him.
That's correct serdj.... You might have to search a little bit.. but on the CIC website (I believe).. they have a list of all the certified doctors that can do this medical test.... Sweden must have some, you just have to look and make sure it's one recognized by canada.. or the test will be useless. All I know is that the info was fairly easy to find.
Any news from Mississauga or Vienna for anyone?
I sent Vienna an email. Has anyone had any experience with emailing them? Do they respond? If so, how long does it take for them to respond?
Has anyone tried calling the Vienna Office? I did and no one answers, all I could do is leave a message.
I have a few questions about the procedure that you, may or may not, be able to answer. This is far in advance, however, I like to know
If everything is ok with the application and my spouse receives an email from Vienna VO stating they want his passport, does that mean he can go to Vienna directly on Tuesday or Thursday of the week and have them process the visa automatically? Do they give him a PR card at the VO or is it requested once he arrives in Canada? Can he have a flight booked directly from Vienna to Canada the day he receives the visa in his passport? Is it safe to assume that the last step is the visa/PR stamped in your passport and you're good to go?

No. When he lands at the airport immigration officer will ask about his new residential address in Canada. They will send him his PR card by regular mail on that address in month or so.

Down from 9 months to 8 months! That's great news for us and everyone that's waiting to get other types of sponsorships processed through Vienna I seen that thing at 9 months for the longest time now. Totally makes my day
