No its not. If you are a permanent resident or citizen, You cant file for a work permit for your spouse if she is outside Canada. If you have a work permit in Canada, then you can file for a work permit for your spouse who is outside Canada to join you. It takes only 5 months and your wife will be given the same amount of time you have on your work permit which can be renewed later of course.

Spousal sponsorship is when one spouse who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident sponsors the other spouse who is not. If neither of you are at least permanent resident of Canada, you cannot immigrate by spousal sponsorship.

I got AOR on the same day I applied.
I got ITA sometime in June or July

ITA- Invitation to Apply? - that will be Express Entry then, not spousal sponsorship. Wrong thread. Also I think when passport is submitted, it goes elsewhere and pickup mail timeline might be different?

Finally I today I got my passport with the visa and other accessories from DHL. Glory to God. Landing this week.
