I just found out a company that I worked for (and had shares purchased) was bought ("acquired") for $1/2bln. They are liquidating all the stocks and shares people had at more than market rate, and taking it private. I was granted options when I started, and bought shares off each pay... they are presently cashing them out at 1.5x the market rate as of last week...

So just got through to them. It was a faulty MyCIC update. I did verify that they are yet to clear the dust off of my application and open it, much less process it! I have a strong feeling that applicants from August through November are going to feel the burn while CIC merrily starts with 2017 applicants to balance their books and achieve their '12 month claim.'
