Hi Kelly... Ill tell you my story...
Im Colombian and my husband is Canadian, we applied on December 2010 on Mississauga, on March he was approved as my sponsor so the papers were sent to Bogota, Colombia...then I got a letter on April (brown envelope with labels inside and a letter asking me to pay de DEFENSE SYSTEMS COLOMBIA fee (COL$40.000)... I made the payment but after that I havent received any information...
When we applied the proccesing time was 15 months but now the Embassy updated the times so its 17 months which is absolutely frustrating....
I know what you're going through.. Lucky you , we didn't even receive an AOR (the letter you received from Bogota with confirmation). Anyways, my husband finally had his interview this August 1st, apparently everything went well , but the officer stayed with his passport and told my husband he would be receiving a form to redo his medicals. We are still waiting for the form to arrive... This september is going to be 16 months since they received my application in Bogota. I am guessing this is normal since now the timeline on CIC is 17 months. I guess all we have to do is wait! Let me know if you receive any notification.
theoretically from the day you send in your passport , you'll get it back in a month. 2 weeks both ways. but that was for ecuador.
in my case, there was a large hiccup, because it wasnt clear how to send the passport, and then when we finally had it fedex-ed back to us, the truck got hijacked. so it took longer than it could have.
