Hello,
I am a Canadian Citizen living in Canada. My wife, whom I married in Colombia in Dec/14, and still lives in Colombia, and with whom have applied for Permanent Residence/Family Sponsorship in Mar/15, has been informed by the Bogota/Colombia Processing Office that she needs:
1) a proof of payment for background verification certificate for Colombia
2) a divorce judgement of her previous marriage.
Regarding "2" above, does CIC just want the "short-version" containing just the judges judgement/conclusion/order, or must we submit all of the cause/evidence/grounds for divorce (lawyers) documents that both parties submitted during the application for the divorce process?
If my wife becomes pregnant in Colombia during this PR/Family Sponsorship application process, does/will CIC tend to OR 'by policy' "speed up" their process at all and/or become "much more likely" to approve her?
I know that she must be in Canada for at least 3 months before we will have any coverage for the birth delivery in a Canadian hospital, so this is a nil issue at the moment.
She works as a doctor and has average command of the English language, and will pursue her profession here. Is there anything that we could do regarding her profession that could help us speed up the process or help to improve the chances that she will be approved?
