thats why i was not impressed by the announcements. Based on NDVO 2016 thread, applications are getting closed within 7- 9 months with some exceptions. So either 18 to 12 months seems more of a publicity stunt. As per GM they have 80,000 backlog in total. There is also an annual cap. i know i am expecting too much but i do sometimes regret my decision to immigrate. its a never ending process in one's lifetime....
Hello all... I checked online today and it said on my side that I was sent a correspondence on the 7th of November. The last letter we received was dated October 26th saying sponsorship approval and file transfer to Trinidad. I have since not received any form of communication could that of been the AOR2 from visa office?

I was in the same situation. Where it said a correspondence had been sent but I hadn't received anything since October 28th. I called last week to verify and the agent said it was just to let me know that i was approved for sponsorship. I would say call and check but I'm pretty sure it's your sponsorship approval letter...
From what I hear, you may not hear anything till a decision is made on your file. I still haven't had my medicals status change after sending them an email with the medicals receipt on Nov 02. Let's hope and pray we hear something soon
I also got SA on Oct. 25th and file sent to Mexico.. no news since then. I've been told Mexico is really bad at sending AOR2 also. But I was also told that "no news is good news" because if they needed something from you they'd tell you.

On ECAS, for whatever this is worth... the 1 line on "Sponsorship Application Status" has reverted back to 2 lines, and on the "Permanent Residence Application Status" is has 3 lines "Received, Processing, and Medicals Passed".
On MyCIC
Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents Provided (I submitted an additional document on the 9th, they requested our sons birth certificate even though I already provided it in the original submission)
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed Not Started
Final decision Not Started
Looks good! Some applicants reported that the documents they submitted after being requested aren't even reflected on myCIC for several weeks to months.
Well, it's not really reflected. When I uploaded the document, it immediatly switched to provided. "Received" will mean they actually looked at it and processed what I gave them. Provided only means I've uploaded it but nobody has touched it. Don't scare me with months...
