What's the current timeline like for outland applicants that are American? My wife's app was received on September 17th and we got AOR on November 6th. I've heard 6 - 9 months is typical, but I've also heard a lot of people say 8 - 12.

Could she feasibly have PR by around March of 2016, or is that fairly unlikely? I'm just not really sure what kind of a range of dates to expect to be looking at, haha.

Go to the Ottawa thread and ask there. There is also an Ottawa spreadsheet. Tell yourself it will take a year and you should not be disappointed, most US applicants are approved within that time frame.

Yayy SA received on monday 9th Nov... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ecas just changed to in process today... ;D 12 nov.

Congrats Tolexmi :)

There are still those from February and March who are US Applicants and still are waiting, while there are also a handful from May who've received PR.

There's really no accurate way to gauge how long it'll take; much of it is luck of the draw. I'd say it could range from 6-12 months for US Applicants, with the average being somewhere around 9.

Like Andrew-Brit said, I'd study the spreadsheets.

It should be noted that IP has now changed in how soon it shows up in ECAS for applications submitted mid-May. IP once meant that your application should see DM in a month or two after it changed; now, IP appears around the time SA appears or an applications arrive at secondary VOs. Since so few—if any—under this "new system" have seen DM, I don't know how long it takes for an application to go from IP to DM anymore—certainly not a month or two, since that would put most applications only at the 4.5 month mark.

I'm hoping to see DM by the end of December, though realistically, I expect to see it in January; the holiday season will likely mean little will get done for a two-week plus time period.

I've been waiting since the first week of May, under the old IP system where it shows up months after SA. I got IP on October 9th (approximately 5 months later from submitting), and a month has passed with no changes in ECAS. (Now, I'm just over 6 months wait time.) To see DM in January would put me at 8 months, which is what I'm going to assume is a reasonable wait-time given historical trends of the data.

There's no way to predict any of it; I wish we could! However, I wish you speedy processing and a lucky pile-placement.

I think your paperwork will be forwarded to the foreign embassy - London? in your case - that will do the main processing.

Bricksmith is right. Your application will be sent to the VO where you have residency, and will then be assessed in a few months for PR. How long it will take to reach a Decision Made once it arrives differs based on your specific VO.

Ok lets wait for the AOR2 :) gud luck to all

Not every VO sends an AOR2. Check with others with your VO to find out if yours sends it.

Ottawa, for example, does not send an AOR2.
