We just received sponsorship approval
but the bad news is they forwarded my file to Ottawa aaaaaaaaaa so they treat our application as inland and not as outland as I'm a visitor in Canada for more than a year now....
They should sent our file to Rome we applied for outland, filled up all the outland forms wrote in our cover lette, that this is an outland application... I'm so happy and so upset at the same time. I'm trying to call CIC but they hang up on me cause the lines are very busy.... Not sure if I will be able to talk to them, or if my partner has to call....
Makeithappen2015 you can call them today for your status I believe.... Hope you get some answers soon.
Yes I just called them and they said that is Ottawa responsible for me as i'm in canada, eventhough they didn't check my file specifically.... but how can this be a good news? The processing time in Ottawa is longer :/ oh well what can I do. At least we got SA
I really hope you get good news tomorrow. Try calling them as early as possible (I think they open at 8) when the lines are less busy. There is always a long waiting time on the phone.
Good luck. Keep us updated, we are all feeling for you.
My wife's app was received on September 17; we still haven't gotten AoR, but I figure it should probably happen in the next week or so, from what others have said.
Some bad news, though. I'd recently gotten a good job, and so when we submitted the PR app, I was able to give a solid employment letter from my new workplace. Unfortunately, business has been slow and I was laid off today.
What do we do? Is there someone I need to contact to amend our information? I started applying for new jobs as soon as I got home today, but obviously I have no way of knowing how soon something else will work out. I really hope this doesn't negatively impact our situation, as obviously it was beyond my (and even my employer's) control.
No, I have money saved and it will be sufficient for handling things for quite awhile, at least. I absolutely won't be going on welfare, nor will I need to. I didn't work at this job long enough to claim EI, either, most likely, haha.
I know if your status changes in some way (you get married when you were common-law, you have a baby, your address changes, etc.) you're supposed to alert the CIC, but do I need to do anything like that in this instance?
EDIT: This is what I found.
When should I contact CIC?
You must notify CIC of any changes in your application, such as:
- changes in your personal circumstances such as a birth or adoption of a child, a marriage or a divorce,
- change in contact information (email, mailing address, phone number),
- appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual, or,
- decision to withdraw your application.
I... guess that means I don't have to tell them? That feels kind of dishonest or something. I don't want to be omitting necessary information or anything, but...
