I am from India. I have applied for the Federal today along with the CSQ and the courier is expected to reach on May 9th.
1. Do I receive an AOR and in how many days from the date CIO, Sydney, Nova Scotia receives my application packet?
2. How many days/ months does it take for the CIO office to ask me to proceed with the further process of medical check up and payment of Right of Landing Fees?
3. Once I have submitted my medical reports and fees how many days/ months does it take for CIO to ask me to submit the passports to the Visa office?
4. Finally, do I have to personally take the passports to the visa office along with my family or courier them to the Delhi office and how much time does it take to finally receive the passports with visas?
The CIC website mentions 13 months but many people have told me that it takes about 6 months or less for all the above processes put together. Kindly guide.
* 6 Months or less is definitely impossible based on all the stats I've ever seen...unless you're talking about Express Entry.
That said, regarding your other questions:
1- It will take 2 to 4 months before you'll receive your AOR from CIC given that your submitted package does not miss anything;
2- It really depends, some ppl receive Medical request after 10 days of AOR while it can take months for some other ppl;
3- Not sure, no one can give you the exact answer, I believe;
4- No, you'll express your passports per the instructions CIC will send you in the future;
Note: we all hope it will take less time for the whole process, but fact is FACT that it will take 10 to 13 months on average for the entire process, you'd better do not lie to yourself but wait patiently for any updates or requests from CIC, and Good Luck!

Hi guys we landed in Canada on 20th April.I will explain the immigration checks.All the new immigrants should go to a special room. There is a special officer asked the passport and the copr. Then he asked any other things coming by ship. I said no. Then I said I have more than 10000 Canadian dollar.He added that information in my immigration form. He was very friendly, and very lovely. We have to do the sign in the copr in front of the officer. Then he said to me sit down for a while for enter everything in the system. After five minutes he call me and told go the another counter.Then I went to the another counter. That officer told me all the rights and the duties.I gave an address to her to send my pr card. And she gave a lot of leaflets to get more knowledge about Canada.Then she told everything finished, can collect the bags and go.
This is my experience with the immigration in Canada airport. It was very cheerful. Nothing to worry about any questions.Hope every body will get good news soon.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I have already waited for 6 years. Hoping that the further process speeds up. Thanks for the encouragement though. :)

Your 1st May post has nothing other than "13 months processing".
I just requested to tell me when you received "AOR", and when you received your "Medical requests".
Its not very difficult to write those dates, rather than telling me to go find your 1st may post.Although I totally understand that you are all pumped up and over the moon for getting PPR and now you dont care about the other people, who are still in line.
Just kidding, i ;D.
If you can share the exact dates, I would appreciate, otherwise, you can totally ignore the message.

Yes if your federal is already in processing than your application will be cancelled as you are opting for EE .

Thank you for reply, the Quebec application is now in the preliminary review stage only, and currently I don't have a profile in the express entry pool. That's why I'm asking if there is any impact from entering the pool? Thanks again..
