The new rules don't apply if "preliminary processing" ("examen preliminaire") of your application had already begun by August 1.
(M.O. 2013-007) SECTION 5. The provisions of this Regulation do not apply to an application for a selection certificate as a skilled worker filed with the Minister prior to 1 August 2013 and whose preliminary processing has begun.

I'm not certain how you can tell if preliminary processing has begun. I added this information because I thought it might be helpful, but maybe you still need to call MICC, as you said.
HI everybody,
I received the MR on august 22nd and I was so lucky cause I received the email while I was in vacation in Montreal, so I did the Medicals the day after, which is august 23rd 2013 at
Clinic LUSO 1 mont royal ave montreal. My questions are:
1- They took a picture of me right before the visit, so I didn't have to provide photos. Does this mean the clinic provide the e-medical service?
2- The doctor told me it's gonna take less than 2 weeks for them to send the results to Toronto, and advised me to send the receipt to the Visa office to let them know that my medicals are done. Does anybody know where should I send this?
ANy idea about the timelines
My e case is still showing "Réception de la demande à CIC", Is it normal?
Please if anybody's timeline are close to mine, let's network.
Thanks in advance
And good luck to everybody
and a lot patience

Guys. Help. Is there any official news released by the Quebec Govt regarding the number of applicants they already received since Aug 1? Is there any truth that 13,000 slots have already been filled up since Aug 1? How true is this? One agency told me about this and I dont know if I should believe it or not. Maybe its just their way of making me speed up my application. Thanks a lot!
Quebec has never been transparent with regard to the quota. They do not publish it unlike in FSw.

it's the online assessment link on the quebec immigration website
Oh I see. Thank you for your reply.
I was under the impression that some educational assessment (like in FSW) or skill assessment needed to be done first.
ca someone tell me that what kind of information they send in aor.is there detail report of marks that you carry available?

I would suggest you to continue with B2, this will give you additional 12 points, hence your total can go to 53, you can definitely get addtional 2 points during your interview with a good command in french. If the BIQ determines the lack of points, I believe they will return your docs and you can anyway reapply, B2 is not too far from B1... cheer up

Hi Mina,
I'm sorry to hear about this. I don't know enough about the system to tell you what to do.
If you need to re-apply, you could come to Quebec to study French for an entire semester at a cegep or university, and that will add 5 points to your total just for visiting Quebec as a student. Maybe you could get the points for reaching B2 as well! The extra 5 points for visiting Quebec might help you avoid the need for an interview.

No there is no point breakdown. It just acknowledges the receipt of your application and says they will communicate later. It also gives your file number

You should call them to find out. You will probably be under the new rules, but I'm not certain. You have until September 16 to withdraw your application.

This is my assumption, quebec wants more nurses, however, the preference will be for people who have french knowledge, as the profession demands a good knowledge of french, assuming there are few thousand applications from nurses and the limit for Nurse profession is around 1000, they will take in people with French over people with lesser or no knowledge of the language. I would suggest you to continue with your french and that can definitely add value if you are able to achieve some level, say a2, b1 etc( This will show that you are interested in french) and anyway you do not depend on french points, hence my suggestion.
tnx mam/sir,
