hi guys
Im living in Montreal
I sent my application on Aug 8,2016 and still haven't received my file number
they have deducted the fee 2 weeks ago and still no news.
my post graduate work permit will expire in January 2017 and my current employer is not willing to go through the process for closed work permit
I talked to an immigration lawyer and he told me I can apply for a bridging open work permit if I have my file number
has anyone here had the same situation?
I checked CIC and I know in Quebec this is not possible
please let me know if anyone had the same situation
also, I want to know when I am going to get my file number
you just have to go to the border with ur csq and job offer letter and thats it, you work permit gets extended, only condition is that you will get closed work permit for that employer
I have a fairly urgent question if anyone can help. Here are the details:
> My girlfriend applied for permanent residency from within Canada under PEQ as a quebec graduate
> She's now staying and working in Canada under PGWP while waiting for permanent residency
> She was under 18 when she moved here, so we didn't send any PCC with the application as she turned 18 in Canada
> We got medical request in July and should now be in final stages of processing
> We got PCC from the FBI back in July but didn't send it, we just got it as a precaution in case CIC still asked for it since it takes a while to get it from FBI
> We ordered GCMS notes and it says criminality is passed, which leads us to believe they won't ask for PCC, but we're not sure
With Christmas approaching, she would like to go back to the US for a week to visit family, then come back here. Our question is, can that hurt her application in any way? Is the FBI PCC from July still valid after she went back to the US for a quick family visit? Could she be refused entry with her work permit in the unlikely event that she receives CoPR in our mailbox while she's away in the US?
Are we just worrying for nothing and it's not a problem at all?
Hi Vinc360,
No. Nothing changed on my status on ecas and cic website.
It is still in process.
However, I contacted my local Member of Parliement last week and she made a call to CIC to check my status.
She replied to me the next day, saying that every thing is fine and I need to wait without giving me any deadline. I do not know whether or not this has some postive effects on my application.
