Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

How long from the time u reached out to mp did they provide you with a reply ? I am thinking of contacting the mp too but it doesn’t seem like that makes any difference to speed up the process ????........

This is what I received from my MP.

• The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if the sponsored person (the applicant) meets the eligibility requirements.
  • the assessment for the applicant is still in process at the Canadian visa office in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
• The medical examination results have expired. The officer will contact your constituent`s spouse with further instructions.
• The criminality verifications have not been initiated.
• The security verifications have not been initiated.
• As of today, there are no outstanding documents.

It took 7 Business days for me. No they can't speed up the process

oh our mp just called immi..... its currently in security check.. criminal check hasn't started....

Security check mean you already pass eligibility so don’t worry your visa on the way

i received my 2nd gcnotes. , eligibility - in progress / security and criminality - not started / medical -passed -expired
but security and criminality there is a new line Action-updated
any ideas friends?

My husband got his passport back today after stamping. He submitted at Vfs Colombo on 29th Jan and received back today. After long wait, he is flying to Toronto on 13th Feb. Thank you all for your support and good luck with your applications.
