I work abroad on cruise ships and require my passport to be with me at all time when I'm away.. I'm about to apply for Family class Spousal sponsored PR visa, through the London office (which I've heard is fun!)
Question..
Should everything go OK and they request my passport for Visa... is there a penalty for delay in giving them my passport. As its going to take me a few weeks to get off the ship and back to the UK.
The PPR (passport request letter from London) gives you 45 days to get the passport and any other items to the London office.
It is possible to have someone drop the passport off at the London office and collect it for you. Obviously you could drop it off yourself.
Postal returns can take longer.
When would you want to "land" in Canada once you got your passport back - ASAP, a week, three weeks, months?
Only you know your circumstances, I would plan for ending my job on the ship as soon as I got PPR, travel to London, drop off and collect the passport (2 weeks)
and then land ASAP. There are plenty of other options.
BTW you have a strange concept of "fun".
Is your partner in Canada?
Is your partner a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident ?
