MP can request to check status on behalf of the applicant/sponsor.
The sponsor/applicant can also request GCMS notes and call.

It is very rare to see PFL for police background check under PGP. You likely need help from an immigration lawyer.
Hello , did you get any response on your brother application?
Can you share your timeline please
We got refusal for brother visa
We got refusal for brother visa
That's odd. How old is your brother? Is he married?
No he is not married and he was dependant on my parents now he is 24 years old when we applied he was 22 years 8 months older.

He didn't qualify as a dependent as he was over 22 years old when you submitted the PGP application.
Is he mentally or physically unable to live independently?
If so, you need a lot of proof for any one over 22 to be qualified as a dependent.
Did you submit extra information for that?
Did he go through medical exam?
Some that has mental or serious medical issue may not pass the medical exam and may be deemed requiring excessive demand (medical/social help) and if that happened the whole application (including the parents) will be refused.
I checked with my MP, and she mentioned that one of my parent's applications is stuck in a security check. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to do but wait, as this process has no timeline.

The same was told to me by MP, this process has NO timeline.
Hello Friends, today i received Pre-Arrival letter below. Does it mean my parents have been approved for PR, i donno its not clear in the email.
Does anyone know what is the wait time Usually how long after pre-arrival they ask for passport? Do i have to wait for another 1 year?
We are currently processing your application for permanent residency. You now qualify to receive pre-arrival services to help you prepare for your new life in Canada. These services are only available to you before you enter Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) funds settlement service provider organizations to deliver pre-arrival services at no cost to you. We strongly recommend that you use pre-arrival services. They can help you to:
• Prepare for your move to Canada and learn about living and working in Canada; • Get your education, work experience, and professional licenses and certificates
recognized in Canada;
• Connect with employers; and
• Connect with organizations that offer free settlement services, including
language training, after you arrive in Canada.
Explore the list of pre-arrival services available to you offered by the federal government or the provincial or territorial government of your destination:
Canada.ca/pre-arrival-services
You will need to provide a copy of this letter when you register with the service providers listed on the IRCC website.
