Thanks Masonb6888! So to be clear my understanding from reading this thread is:
- Application is sent and initially processed at CPC-M
- If everything is in order it is usually forwarded to London (for UK and Pakistan applicants)
- London perfoms background checks etc, taking an unknown length of time to do so
- They then issue a Decision Made and, assuming PR is granted, send the file to Ottawa
- Ottawa, although currently experiencing a backlog, will issue a passport request
- Upon receipt of appropriate documents, CoPR is posted to applicant.
The passport request and CoPR are issued by the VO. So if your application is being processed in London VO, then they will send you the PPR email and you will have to mail your passport to London VO to get your CoPR. Sending the applications to Ottawa just for the purpose of PPR and issuing CoPR is currently only happening to people whose entire application is being processed in Mississauga. This is because Mississauga was never a visa office and only started doing late stage processing two months ago due to the backlog in Ottawa. Most applicants currently being processed in Mississauga would have traditionally been processed in Ottawa.

Like jptskt said above, I don't believe Ottawa would issue your CoPR, it would be your VO. Ottawa is issuing PPR/CoPR (not that anyone I know of, other than a very few select people, this year has received CoPR.) for both Mississauga and Ottawa applicants. So most likely Inland and US outland Applicants.
Hey, Non thus far.
did i mention that Oct 10 they requested new RCMP fingerprints? or then on OCT 13 they requested a Stat Deca (IMM5409) for common-law status?
We scanned those into them this past week and I got an email saying they received them.
we knew that at the beginning of oct they were currently working on our BCG in Mississauga at the same time Ottawa was processing my eligibility. We're hoping that the request of these documents is just the tail end and we will have DM by the end of Nov.

We also received a request for IMM5409 on Oct. 17 and on the same date GCKey said that our background was in process. I also hope DM is coming shortly... Finger crossed!

It was in fact my passport request. However since I'm a US citizen I only had to send in a photocopy of the main page (and any amendments, but I have none), two photos of myself (same requirements as submitting the application), and the Annex A form that was at the bottom of the letter.
Also have to send pre-paid return postage.
I'm so excited! I'm going to be working by Christmas time!
anyone have a rough estimate/ timeline of how long it takes CIC to go over documents they requested? I've been sent the email saying they've received it. So I'm hoping that means it won't be long since they were looking at my file before that.
Thanks!

I'm talking about my Stat Deca of common law and RCMP finger prints.. they wanted the stat deca and new finger prints fear as though it put me behind. No DM for me, yet.
so I'm asking how long do you think it would be from when I get the email saying "we have received your document" to DM?
