I see that our timelines have been same submitted online on Oct 17. I applied for my wife and kids. I already have a visit visa approved in 2017 which I had enclosed along with their application.
Its easier and far quicker to get an approval for visit visa if you have enclosed your US visa and return tickets to the US as the visa officer can establish the intent of the applicant is purely for tourism or family visit and the applicant will return to his home country at the end of the trip.
Though it is not mandatory that you book your return tickets for applying Canada visit visa.

didn’t receive acknowledgment letter after biometric request and biometric done on 9th October I receive correspondence letter.
