Hi can I know how did you cancel the voter id?
Do we need to sign up in indian resident elector or overseas elector?

Yes sir just added on form 6
Updated phone number of my family members
Then get Otp
Then cancel from form 7

Form 6 is for new registration right? Do we need to use this form to link the phone number to the existing Voter Id and then use form 7?

But after that no further updates. I didn't get any acknowledgement either (Email).

Should I be concerned OR is this all happening due to Canada Post strike and other political/administrative reasons?

Its been 2 weeks now since my OCI was dispatched from India. Anyone in the same boat? Any idea how long it takes to get here?

Hello - I received my OCI card last year. At that time, there was no requirement to get voter id / ration card cancelled. Now, I am in the process to apply my wife's OCI application, she never had a voter id / ration card back in India.
Do I need to cancel my voter id before she applies for OCI? or the applications are independent.

It's independent so you need not do anything. Just double check your wife really doesn't have a ration card or voter id. It's mostly done by parents and they(spouse) are unaware of its existence.

10 days is ideal time. Looks like taking more now. Hopefully you should have it by next week. Holidays can have additional impact next week.

I know you can collect but I am doubtful about submission. Better call them and check.

they said they have stopped taking applications submitted on else behalf, better to use the postal service.

After submitting applications we get acknowledgment (AOr ) on email or just show on tracker please need some assistance
