I just applied for Oci
I already cancelled my voter id
Now I don’t have ration card on my name
In this case what’s the best option
Do I need to remove my name from family ration card

Do I need to do anything regarding the new requirements? I have already started the process of getting my voter registration cancelled and in talks to get my name removed from the family ration card but both will take a little while.

Till they dont ask for it, you are good with letting it process normally.

For National Identification Number, what was accepted by BLS

1) Leave it blank
2) Canada Passport Number
3) Canada Citizenship Certificate Number

There are a million different suggestions for this causing confusion. Would be super helpful if someone can share there experience.

1. Kept it as blank. Its optional field does not even get printed when you print the OCI application.

Congratulations! Can you please share which centre was it?
Our application date was the same, but it still shows as "Processing at the Consulate". Did you have to go through the new declaration requirement process?

Same. Applied 1st October, acknowledged on 8th, but still shows "Processing at the Consulate". Did you receive any update, or know the latest timelines for Surrey/Vancouver consulate?

Good to see BLS & Consulate are very responsible in terms of processing OCI's in Toronto & Ottawa. Very reasonable timelines.

BLS Vancouver & Surrey are worst. Applied on September 23rd and no update yet.

Yes sir just added on form 6
Updated phone number of my family members
Then get Otp
Then cancel from form 7

But my mother names is changed on ration card and I have different name on my document
Doses it will get effected my Oci application
Please if you can guide me on that

Not really just get your name removed. Acknowledgement or reference number from that should be enough for OCI processing.
