It will ask for an invitation in the beginning but once you finish it ask for additional documents. For me I put in an explanation letter for my husband. I am doing the application for him. Just submitted
What will you all write in the invitation letter? Your spouse plans to visit and never return? I thought one of the main things they will look for in TRV approval is ties back home. Something smells fishy in this new annoucement.
Just say you inviting your spouse under the new measures that was announced on the 26th of May, and do some explanations you feel that they should let your spous come to join you.
I am very curious and excited about this new announcement.
My outland spouse PR application was submitted in August 2022, and I have submitted a TRV in May 11, 2023. So for my application, it meets perfectly with this new policy. I am not sure if only new applications can fit here or the ongoing applications also work.
My status right now (May 28):
PR: The PR application has eligibility completed, and shows "Activity status updated: Background verification" on May 25, 2023. I heard that the process can take months even years if it is security screening. So I really hope to be able to have a visa while waiting.
Hi Mia - pls keep us updated with your PR and TRV application.
If you are already updating your timelines in some other thread, just provide the link to that thread and will follow you there, so you wont have to repeat in multiple threads. Thank you and wishing you a very smooth ride in this journey. You seem to be the Trailblazer for me in this PR + TRV application.
Absolutely, currently waiting to receive the AOR as we've applied back in March. The moment the AOR gets here we are submitting the TRV immediately. My question is whether we can apply without having received the AOR or we should have received the AOR before applying for the TRV under the new mandates?
Hi, I was fortunate to talk to IRCC on Friday and asked this question as I am currently waiting for my AOR. They said that apply for TRV after receiving AOR and it takes 30 business days to get tbe TRV, which is expedited. Hope that helps
Do you think the chances of approval for visitor visa if spouse have no current unemployment in their home country? If I'm covering the cost of the visit? Yes we have aor, we applied in November 2022.

Did they say anything about what to put for ties to home country? What if you ask for 6-month TRV, how can you demonstrate ties to home country then since you likely won't have a job anymore.
